Aileen Kelly Taylor

May 17, 1928 - June 29, 2020

Aileen (pronounced Eileen) Kelly Taylor, 92, of Chesapeake Beach passed away June 29, 2020 at her home surrounded by family. She was born May 17, 1928 in Richland, SC to Alma Bertha Neely and John Levine Kelly. Aileen graduated from Brookland-Cayce High School in South Carolina and attended Columbia Bible College and Columbia Business School. Her priorities were always taking care of her family.  She also performed secretarial and accounting work at various places, and was an instructional aide in the schools of P. G. County, MD.

Aileen loved the Lord and served him in many ways.  Besides being a homemaker, she was always involved in a church wherever she lived.  Supporting the church with her tithes, taught Sunday school, and was always ready to lend a hand wherever she could.  She wrote poetry that is amazing, could sew

anything you needed, knitted/crochet, and loved to draw.  In lieu of buying cards for her loved ones, Aileen would make cards for them usually with a comical theme along with pictures.  Her most favorite time was when she got to care for her “special girl” while her mom worked full time.  Her last days were filled with joy whenever we talked or shared pictures of her “special girl”.

After retiring from being a Teacher’s Aid, Aileen volunteered at hospitals, nursing homes and hospice centers whenever possible until she could not drive.  She was always a comfort to those that she visited. She is now with her heavenly Father. Thank God for giving us this wonderful servant who brought so much love to her family and friends. She will be missed.

Aileen was preceded in death by her husband Charles E. “Rex” Taylor, Sr. in 1991. She is survived by her children Timothy R. Taylor and wife Grace of Chesapeake Beach, Neil H. Taylor and wife Anita of Atwater, OH, and Charles E. Taylor and wife Sherrie of Waldorf, grandchildren Jennie Taylor Breslin (Grams special girl), Neil Taylor II, William Taylor, Christine Taylor, Charles E. Taylor III, Jonathan Taylor, and Anna Taylor, and great-grandchildren Parker, Abel, Eliana, Nathanial, Ruthie, Teressa, Jeremiah, Noel, Alana, Augie, Manny, Zachary, Autumn, and Byron.
