Enos J. Yoder

Enos J. Yoder, 86, of 400 Church Lane, Reedsville, passed away at 4:26 p.m. on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at his home.


He was born September 20, 1937 in Brady Township, Huntingdon County, a son of the late David T. and Elsie M. (Kurtz) Yoder. On April 20, 1961, he married Rebecca S. (Peachey) Yoder. She preceded him in death on January 22, 2023.


Surviving are the following: children, Orpha Kauffman and husband, David, of Thompsontown, Enos J. Yoder, Jr. of Greencastle, PA, Calvin L. Yoder and wife, Elva, of Belleville, Samuel E. Yoder and wife, Hazel, of Ewing, IL, Joseph E. Yoder and wife, Teresa, of Millersburg, PA, Bertha A. Yoder at home, Mark E. Yoder and wife Faith, of McVeytown, and Nathan E. Yoder and wife, Eunice, of Belleville, as well as a fresh air daughter, Corles Frederick, who became part of the family; 55 grandchildren, and 64 great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Raymond E. Yoder of Adams, NY, Harvey L. Yoder of Belleville, Mary Beachy of Liberty, KY, Barbara Beachy & husband Lester of Liberty, KY, Rhoda Yoder & husband David of Hickory, KY, and a sister-in-law, Marie Yoder.


Along with his parents and wife, Enos was also preceded in death by two sons, Raymond J. Yoder and Naaman E. Yoder, brothers, Jess Yoder and David Yoder, Jr., sisters, Amanda Yoder and Martha Yoder, as well as a granddaughter and three great-grandchildren.


Enos was a lifelong dairy farmer in Mifflin County. He enjoyed traveling and was privileged to visit numerous other countries. He enjoyed nature and spending many hours on the lake and in the mountains. His greatest joy was seeing his children and grandchildren walk in truth.

He was a member of Goodwill Mennonite Church.


His funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 28, 2024, at Pleasant View Amish Mennonite Church with John Brubaker, David Brubaker, Frank Mullet, and Vernon Weaver officiating. Burial will take place at Locust Grove Cemetery following the service. His family will receive friends 1-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Pleasant View Amish Mennonite Church.
