Laura K. “Sis” Yoder, 90, of Valley View Haven, Belleville and formerly of Allensville, died at 6:16 a.m. Friday, April 9, 2021 at the Haven.
Born March 7, 1931 in Belleville, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Kathryn (Mateer) Crownover.
On June 21, 1952, she married the late Richard L. “Dick” Yoder.
She is survived by her son Dennis R. Yoder and wife Ruby of Allensville; two granddaughters Sallie Yoder and husband David Sommers of West Chester and Sarah Laftchiev and husband Emil, of Watertown, Mass.; one great-grandson Ivan Laftchiev, of Watertown, Mass.; siblings Betty Bareuther and husband Dick and Roy Crownover and wife Donna; and a special niece Bonnie Pressler.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by daughter Debra Yoder on March 12, 2000, and two brothers, Eugene and Glen Crownover.
Laura worked as a cook at the Allensville Elementary School for several years and worked as a cashier at the Allensville store as well.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends as well as spoiling her grandchildren. She was a member of Allensville Community Church, a member of Willing Workers Sunday School Class and also served as a Sunday school teacher at the church.
Her memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 12, 2021 at Allensville Community Church with Pastor George “Buddy” Baird officiating. Her family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family at Allensville Presbyterian Cemetery.
